November 2006 - Chapel of Rest Opening

Andrew and Heidi Bingham with the Mayor of Stowmarket Poppy Robinson at the opening of Andrew Bingham Independent Funeral Service.
The Chapel of rest dedication and open day took place on 18th November 2006. Mayor Poppy Robinson officially opened the premises, with Rev Michael Eden of St Mary’s and St Peter’s, Stowmarket and Rev Stephen Yelland of Stowmarket Methodist church, dedicating the chapel along with Andrew’s father Rev. John Bingham. The open day was well supported by family, friends, colleagues, members of clergy and the public. It was very fitting that Mayor Poppy Robinson’s father was also a funeral director in Needham Market and she mentioned how much he would have been impressed by the new business and its new premises. Donations were also raised for St.Elizabeth Hospice.
March 2007 - Sponsored car wash and Coffee morning

It was a perfect day for cleaning cars and it was well supported with a total of 21 cars being cleaned and £262.00 raised in aid of the Stowmarket and district cancer support group. Andrew chose this charity because his mother died of cancer in 2005 and knows how important any help and support is, to patients and families who are suffering from this awful illness.

To mark one year since we first opened in Stowmarket, Andrew, his wife Heidi and team hosted an evening of entertainment in aid of the Stowmarket and district Cancer support group. The evening was held at Buxhall Village Hall, where close to 100 people turned out to support the event. Music was provided by the popular local country band ‘Slightly Soiled’. A wonderful evening was had by all and a grand total of £833.75 was raised for the Cancer Support group.
April 2008 - Dennis Firman Memorial Bowls Challenge Cup
A new annual tournament took place In memory of Mr Dennis Firman, a founder member of the Stowmarket indoor Bowls Club and raised £454.00 in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which was one of Mr. Firman’s favourite charities. We approached Mr. Firman’s family in March about sponsoring the event and felt that it was fitting to name it after Mr. Firman who died in January 2008.
August 2008 - Sponsored car wash and Coffee morning.

Andrew Bingham and his team along with members from Optua.
It was a perfect day again for cleaning cars and it was well supported with a total of 25 cars being cleaned and with donations £461.40 was raised in aid of the Optua Community Transport. All Optua's transport services are fully accessible to disabled people and most of them are available to anyone who wants to use them. They are a very useful way for older people or anyone living in rural Mid Suffolk to get about. A big thank you to all who supported and helped.
