November 2008 - Fundraising Evening in Aid of the Cancer Support Group

Andrew Bingham Independent Funeral Service of Stowmarket, hosted a fundraising evening in aid of the Cancer support group (Stowmarket and District). The event was held at Buxhall Village Hall, where about 100 people turned out to support the event.Music was provided by the popular local country band ‘Slightly Soiled’ and local T.V. Presenter ‘Becky Jago’ made a guest appearance to help with the raffle.
Andrew, his wife Heidi and the team would like to offer their sincere thanks to local businesses Kings Florist, Gammers Ford Garage, The Chestnut Horse at Gt Finborough, Jeffries of Bacton, Bradnams Joinery, Thorley Smith, Bosch, MCT Suspension, Marketing Solutions (East), John Bull Motors, Greene King Brewery, Louise’s Hair Company and to all the individuals who kindly gave prizes or made donations. A wonderful evening was had by all and a grand total of £701.11 was raised for the Cancer Support group.
The charity is local and through our own personal and professional experience, we know the value of the support the charity gives to cancer sufferers and their families’. The Group offers Support from the point of diagnosis to include a listening ear and practical help such as a few hours sitting, help with tasks such as shopping and there is also a limited night sitting service, which allows carers a much needed night’s sleep.
