On Saturday 21st November, at Mid Suffolk Indoor Bowling Club a Charity match was held and the proceeds were donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance. A trophy in memory of the late Dennis Firman who was a great ambassador for the sport of bowls and also an avid supporter of the Air Ambulance Service was also presented to the winners. 10 teams entered in two round robin sections with ages ranging from 7 years up well we don't say how old the elder players were. The final was contested between Caitlin Riches, Carl Riches and Ken Weston and a junior team of Leah Claireaux, Bethany Manser and Steven Pulford. It was a close contest at the finish of the penultimate end the youngsters being 4 shots to 2 up, but Ken Weston drew 3 bowls to win the match.
In a target bowls competition held at the same time Andrew Pulford was the winner with a total of 190 points.
Mrs Carla Firman presented the prizes to the winners and thanked Mid Suffolk Indoor Bowling Club for the sum of £214.00 that was raised.
